(Note: we have found the best results when baking bread by NOT increasing the oven temperature and using the recipe's recommended oven temperature.
TIP: You do not need to soak the base of the Romertopf Clay Bread Bakers before use, however if you are using a Romertopf clay baker with the lid, then soak the lid as usual before baking. Spray Romertopf base with cooking spray prior to placing dough in baker for second rise to keep bread from sticking to the baker. When baking is complete, the loaf should have pulled away from sides of baker.
